[yoongi/jungkook] ; burn it up

jungkook knows exactly what he's expecting whenever he steps up to yoongi's front door, on the familiar front porch, surrounded by that now-familiar feeling of holy shit, this place is nice, even if they all come from more or less the same kind of background. maybe he's just too naive. maybe he still isn't catching the hints even after that game of seven minutes in heaven in taehyung's closet, or the subsequent few private encounters that have all led to more or less the same place. maybe it's because it feels like a normal night, like a normal text message, one that came straight from yoongi but could have been in the group chat, for all it's brief, vague information. just a time and a place, an impromptu study session. it's not like jungkook's unused to it, not now, at least, so he steps up to the door absolutely sure that he knows exactly what he's getting himself into.

it takes less than ten seconds for him to realize that he's wrong. a slow sense of something that might be close to dread, just maybe, starts to creep into his stomach when yoongi opens the door and it's so quiet behind him. jungkook knows that it's a big place, sure, but he also knows just how loud this group of guys can be. not to mention he's more than used to being practically bombarded every time he arrives anywhere, with loud, excited voices and taehyung throwing himself everywhere, tangling jungkook up in long limbs until he has to force his way out.

right now isn't like that. it definitely isn't like that, especially not with yoongi just standing there, not offering him anything close to an explanation. jungkook lets it all process for a moment, and even then he doesn't manage to get there on his own. instead, he tightens his fingers around the strap of his backpack, glances around and looks behind yoongi for anyone else. like someone should be there. and he's trying kind of desperately not to show just how strong the nerves slowly creeping up his spine are.

"uh ... where's everyone else? are they running late?"
