saturdays are quite possibly jungkook's favorite day of the week. they're rivaled only by sundays, and, really, both of them are equal when it comes down to it. because they're the days when he gets yoongi all to himself, when yoongi doesn't have to leave for work even for just a few hours, when they get to spend all of their time together, exactly how jungkook thinks they should be. there's just something so satisfying about it, calming, knowing that they have an entire day stretched out in front of them. knowing that he won't have to watch the door close with yoongi on the other side of it, not spending any amount of time curled up near the entryway of the apartment, just waiting for him to come back. on saturdays, jungkook gets to go with him. and that's more than enough to be a cause for excitement.
jungkook never gets tired of their routine. in fact, he relishes in it, in the kind of steady consistency that means he always knows what to expect. he always has something to look forward to. yoongi always holds up, always supplies him with the same things, the same comfort, always that security that keeps him feeling grounded and safe. there's no better feeling than being scooped up into yoongi's arms, jungkook thinks, pressed close and secure near the older man's chest. maybe the soft, affectionate peck to his cheek comes close to it, but every little piece of affection, every bit of praise, no matter how small the gesture, always leaves jungkook feeling so warm and happy, so completely content. now is no different, and by the time they finally get out the door jungkook is ready for the small adventure.
going out into the world with yoongi never stops being exciting. it doesn't matter how many times they've gone grocery shopping together, repeated the same routine to the same places. jungkook never stops being amazed by everything, always so eager to drink in all of the sights and sounds that the city has to offer with big eyes and ears that twitch and swivel all over the place, always unable to resist the urge to squirm and twist around in yoongi's hold sometimes so that he can look. the first few times they did this he was more reserved, a little scared of all of the loud noises and new things, but he's familiar enough with it now to light up at the sight of the subway station, always excited to ride it.
it's more than evident in the way that he's still just a little bit restless in yoongi's arms, but definitely not enough to worm his way out of them, because he doesn't want that. he wants the closeness with yoongi while being able to look and explore and take in everything all at the same time, and he knows that it isn't an impossibility. he also knows that he wants to look out the window once they board their train, that he wants to watch the world go by and marvel at everything in it, just like he always does. he likely doesn't have to do anything about it, but he still does anyway, always stubborn, always wanting to communicate himself to yoongi in whatever way he knows how. so he doesn't hesitate in reaching out towards the window, opening and closing the fingers of his free hand while the other still tightly holds onto the grocery list, making sure to keep it held protectively to his chest. his attention is back on yoongi as he does so, big eyes searching for understanding, the slightest hint of a whine slipping out to help get his point across.
