today is nothing special.
today is luhan and minseok in minseok's apartment, devoting an entire saturday to nothing but spending time together. today isn't a day to worry about homework or impending exams. it's not a holiday. it's not an anniversary. it's nothing special, but they gravitate towards each other. luhan finds himself missing this when he doesn't get it, but when he does, it's so natural.
he places a kiss on minseok's lips, soft and quick on his way over him and off of the couch. they've created a nest there, an abundance of pillows and blankets that luhan insisted on so that he wouldn't get too cold. now he's thirsty, and he pads his way to the adjoining kitchen, socks sliding on the floor just a little and making him laugh.
it's only a matter of minutes before he's coming back, a glass of water in his hand. minseok is still comfortable on the couch, and he looks up when he catches movement out of the corner of his eye.
their eyes lock, and it happens.
the reaction is immediate. luhan is moving before he even realizes it, and minseok is too, jumping over the back of the couch to get to him as quickly as possible. they collide in a mess of limbs and breathless laughter. the glass of water is long gone, spilled all over the floor but it doesn't matter. they don't care.
they're glowing. they glowed. luhan always knew that it would happen. he was certain that minseok was his soulmate, with such a ferocity that he would have insisted on it even if it had never happened. it didn't matter to him, because he loved minseok either way. but he never would have imagined that it would hit them like this, that it would make him feel so warm and so full like nothing he's ever felt before.
minseok's arms are strong around his waist, keeping him close. his nose is buried in luhan's hair and luhan is so, so happy. he pulls back just enough to see it reflected right back, just in time for him to kiss every single part of minseok's face that he can reach. he ends up right back where he started, pressing their lips together and laughing into his mouth and running fingers through his hair because this is real. this is happening. it's tangible and it's perfect and nothing could ever be better than this.
"oh my god." his voice is heavy with disbelief, in the best way. minseok is laughing now, staring at him in that way that he does sometimes, with so much emotion inside that look that luhan could drown if he looks for too long. he wants to. he wants to drown in minseok forever.
"we're soulmates," he says, words shaky now because he's so happy and excited and feeling so much that it's hard to keep it contained. "holy shit, we're soulmates, minseok. fuck, i love you."
everything comes out in a rush, still so breathless that it keeps minseok laughing because he's lightheaded, dizzy with the intense rush of so many things. relief, excitement, affection, happiness and love. nothing but love love love for the boy with the crazy colored hair and the loud personality who came into his life and stole his heart away.
"i love you. i love so much, lu." he buries himself in that crazy colored hair again, breathes in everything about him and "you're mine, mineminemine, god, i love you."
it's perfect. it's unreal. it feels like a dream and like the way everything should be all at once.
it's tangible. it's natural.
it's the most comfortable place in the world.
