it's a little funny, because it's not as if anything about it is a mystery. they both knew when they made these plans how it was going to go, more or less. perhaps jungkook hadn't realized just how long their day together would stretch on, but he knew that at the end of it, however long it was, yoongi would be heading back home and they would be back to normal, back to usual, back to what it was like before jungkook knew what it was like to hear yoongi's voice in person or feel the warmth of the older man's hand clasped tightly with his own. it feels different than jungkook was ready for, like an ache somewhere in his chest, starting up even though yoongi hasn't even gone anywhere yet. it's too much. jungkook is sure that it is, but at least yoongi can't see it.

what yoongi likely can see is the slight surprise that comes over him with those words, as if he hadn't been expecting it. the way he smiles a littly shy, how he nods his head easily, still swinging their joined hands ever so slightly back and forth without even realizing it. he doesn't know how to say actually, i kind of wish that you never had to leave. there's no friendly way to put that, nothing that wouldn't be crossing a line he's still kept carefully in mind. so instead he absently bites at his lower lip for a moment, a nervous tick, before "i'd like that," comes out. "whenever you have the time, i'd like that a lot, hyung."
